Golden Globes; Hits & Misses

Every time I look at the best & worst dressed lists, there are always some I disagree with, so I'm sure there will be some here you will disagree with too.
For example, I have seen a lot of raves on Nicole Kidman's dress from the Golden Globes, but honestly, it does nothing for me.

This is my own personal list of the hits & misses of the outfits from the Golden Globes.

HIT

Amy Adams
Emily Blunt
Francesca Eastwood
Hayden Panettiere
Isla Fisher
Jennifer Lawrence
Kaley Cuoco
Kate Hudson
Kristen Bell
Michelle Dockery
Nicole Richie
Salma Hayek
Stacy Keibler

MISS
Taylor Swift
Really not loving the cut around the bust & the dress looks like it could use a good iron.
Debra Messing
I love her but she is just drowning in this.
Helena Bonham Carter
I love her, I just never seem to love her outfits
Jessica Chastain
If this was a better fit, it could have looked amazing.
I'm pretty sure I read on E! that she had a wardrobe malfunction at the after party, no surprises there,
Jennifer Lopez
We get it already, you have a banging body!
Not everything you wear needs to be so...naked
Katharine McPhee
I just think there's a bit too much skin here.
Her make up looks amazing though
Louise Roe
I find nothing about this outfit appealing
Lucy Liu
No. Just no.
Sienna Miller
Is this a dress? Or a top & skirt? I don't know.
Either way; me no likey.

Did I put anyone from your best dressed list on my worst?
Vice versa?
Let me know
:)

Obligatory New Years Post

Image courtesy of We Heart It

I hope everyone had a safe & happy new years.

After spending all day on the 31st at the hospital with my fiance, we weren't exactly in the mood to party so we just watched movies until a bit before midnight, flicked over to the fireworks, had our 12 o'clock kiss and then went to bed.

It seems most people are happy 2012 is over.
Personally I'd like to skip ahead to 2014 but that's just me.

2013 is going to be a challenge for me.
I've got a lot of goals and I am determined not to fail at any of them.
The main goal is to get my finances in order.
I've spent too long being frivolous and silly with my money.
I look at all the things I own and granted, I have some gorgeous things but there are so many pointless purchases, so much money spent on things I've never worn or used, or worse yet, things I've lost.

I've started reading some finance/saving blogs and have joined in some discussions on the topic on the vogue forums.
I find it really inspiring and the thought of saving and being wiser with my money is actually making me excited.

I can safely say that I won't have much of an issue with not buying new clothes as I have really lost the interest.
Lately, I seem to have completely lost the urge to shop. I just can't be bothered battling the crowds, trying on clothes or dealing with the wide range of rude retail staff that I seem to be encountering these days.

My two weaknesses are shoes & homewares.
I'm really going to have to work on these, especially the latter.
I'm such a sucker for teapots, cute coasters, photo frames, throw pillows & everything in between.

I'm going to have to work harder to make my blog more interesting as there will be very few posts on shopping hauls, expensive dinners or the like.

Do you have any goals for 2013?
I'd love to hear about them!

MooGoo

Late last week I placed an online order with MooGoo, which is quickly becoming one of my favourite skin care brands of all time.
For anyone who hasn't heard of MooGoo before, here is a brief bio taken from their website;

What Makes Us Moo

MooGoo is an Australian company that makes a range of natural, safe products with effective active ingredients designed for people with skin and scalp problems.
MooGoo was first made when the founder adapted a cream used in dairy farms to help a family member with a skin problem. The dairy version of ‘udder cream’ was designed to heal cow’s udders and keep them in good condition for milking. It was full of skin repair ingredients and no fillers.
We have since expanded to make a range of skin products for people with skin problems. We use the same philosophy in all their products. The full strength of healing ingredients and no petroleum or chemical based ingredients. All ingredients are listed on products.
One of the things I love about MooGoo is that they list every ingredient used in each product with a brief description in laymans terms for people like me, who don't know a whole heap about which ingredients do what.
Another thing I love; They are so reasonably priced.
And another thing I love; They actually work on my horribly sensitive skin!

As I mentioned in my last post, I was in my local health care store where I purchased some Jojoba Company products. I also purchased my first MooGoo product; Milky Wash.
I will do a full review on that soon, but for now, I will simply say; My skin has never looked so good!

I haven't had the chance to use any of the products from my order yet as I only received them this morning and because I had a fake tan booked in for tonight, it meant no moisturising/deodorant etc, so I will begin using them all tomorrow.

I absolutely adore the cute packaging it arrived in!

Fresh Cream Deodorant
$8.45
Aluminium free and all natural; love it.
For more information on this product click here
MSM Smoothing Cream
$17.95
MSM is known for it's skin calming properties.
I actually bought this for a very specific purpose.
I have little red bumps all over my upper arms, I have had them for so long that I just assumed they were normal for me, that is until I read a product review on this cream and someone with seemingly the exact same issue had their bumps cleared up by using this. If this product can clear up my bumpy arms, I will be so stoked.
Skin Milk Udder Cream
$11.90
This is MooGoo's lightest moisturiser, I plan on using it all over.
From the MooGoo website;
MooGoo’s Skin Milk Udder Cream is being recommended by a number of oncologists and hospitals due its efficacy in helping the recovery from the side effects of chemo and radiotherapy.  A pilot study making a comparison between the use of sorbolene and the Udder Cream is scheduled to take place later this year.

That's pretty amazing stuff!

Eczema & Psoriasis Cream
$18.50
This is actually a re-purchase and it's for my brother.
He suffered from terrible psoriasis until I got him on the MooGoo bandwagon.
He uses this and the Milky Wash and his psoriasis is virtually non-existent these days.
Milk Shampoo & Cream Conditioner

The lovely people at MooGoo included these sample sizes of their shampoo & conditioner.
I'm going to give these to my brother as he gets psoriasis on his scalp so they would probably be of more value to him than to myself.
In my opinion, these are incredibly generous sized samples.
They don't say how many ml per bottle but they are roughly the same size as the deodorant which is 60mls.

So that's my MooGoo order.
I will do reviews on each of the products as I use them.

Have you ever used MooGoo?
Do you find it as amazing as I do?

The Jojoba Company

I have had problem skin ever since I hit puberty.
So for nearly 10 years I have tried almost every product on the market that claims the same general thing, to fix my skin concerns.
I'd love to know how much money I have spent on various skin care products that have done nothing for my skin and have ended up sitting in a box somewhere or in the bin.

A few months ago, I popped in to my local health food shop to buy some evening primrose oil and I mentioned to the woman working there that I was having serious issues with my skin.
Mainly; horribly painful breakouts that just would not go away and marks left behind from recent outbreaks that seemed to linger on my face forever. Certainly not acne, just lots of angry pimples.
She asked me lots of questions and suggested that I give jojoba oil a try.
*Cue heavenly sounding music*

This stuff has literally changed my life.

I wasn't too savvy with what was in my usual face products or what was in all the natural products.
In hindsight, I am very disappointed that I didn't research the ingredients sooner.
How could I not have been wise to what I was putting on my face?!
Bad Paige!

Since discovering The Jojoba Company, I have been really conscious about what goes on my face and I now get all my skin care products from my local health food shop.

A couple of weeks after making the switch to jojoba products and Moo Goo(more on Moo Goo in a later post), my skin was flawless.
I mean flawless!
Not a pimple, blackhead, whitehead or enlarged pore ANYWHERE ON MY FACE.

For anyone who isn't really sure what jojoba is or what it's benefits are, I've taken this from The Jojoba Company's website;
100% Natural Australian Jojoba Oil - Nature's Wrinkle Fighter
Youthful skin produces wax esters that are responsible for the deep cleansing and moisturising of skin, hair and nails. Up to 30% of healthy young skin sebum is made up of wax esters. As we grow older, wax ester production begins to slow down. As a result, the functions of wax esters are lost, allowing moisture to escape from skin cells. This begins the ageing process of skin.

Jojoba is the only plant known to produce wax esters instead of plant oil. Its molecular structure is similar to the wax esters in youthful skin sebum. Jojobs is naturally hypoallergenic and contains powerful antioxidants, Omega 6 & 9, fatty acids, and Vitamins A, D and E. As a result, when jojoba is applied to skin, it puts back what aging takes away, working immediately to begin restoring youthful looking skin, naturally.
Jojoba moisturises lips, face, hands, cuticles, body and hair, leaving skin smooth and hair silky.
Apply jojoba to wet or dry skin, hair and nails.

I always get so amazed hearing about how such natural things can be so beneficial in so many ways!
Makes me wonder why I've been slathering a myriad of scary sounding chemicals with unpronounceable names on my skin all these years.

My collection of The Jojoba Company's products is slowly growing and in true 'me' style, there are a few more things I want.
But here is my current collection;

Moisturising Protective Day Cream SPF15
$39.95
I use this every single day.
It is my holy grail moisturiser and it smells amazing!
100% Natural Australian Jojoba Oil
$29.95
I use this on my face most nights.
I also use it on my cuticles and in my hair if they're feeling a bit dehydrated.
100% Natural Make-Up Remover
$29.95
I actually used this for the first time tonight and I love it.
It feels like such a deep clean compared to using the standard pre-moistened face wipe and it's so soft and gentle.
Moisturising Hydrating Mist
$29.95
I use this as a toner every day.
It smells great and feels very clean & refreshing.
Spot On Pimple Control
$24.95
This is a great spot treatment for pimples.
I rarely get them anymore but when I do, I dab a bit of this on my spots before bed and when I wake up they are practically gone.
Lemon And Coconut Hand Cream
$22.95
I only bought this yesterday but wow, does it smell good!
Intense Overnight Renewal Cream
$52.95
Once again, I only bought this yesterday and am going to use it for the first time tonight.

So that is my rave about The Jojoba Company.
To top it all off, they are completely Australian owned, produced and operated.

Have you ever used any of these products?
Have you ever been pleasantly surprised by a certain skin care product?

wedding dreaming

Last Tuesday I got a phone call at around 3pm from a place I had a job interview at recently. They offered me a job on a 3 month probationary period and asked me to start the following day at 6.45am.
Crazy notice huh?
So since last Tuesday, my life has kind of revolved around this new job as I learn the ropes and feel obligated to take every shift they offer so that I look good and get hired after my 3 months probation are up.
I've only done 5 shifts and I'm really not loving it. I know a lot of people don't like their jobs so I'm not alone.
But for my own sanity I have been reminding myself why I am at work.
It's so I can have the wedding of my dreams and buy a house.

So I'm doing a blog post filled with wedding inspiration, more for myself, so that when I'm having a bad day or a hard time at work, I can look over these photos and realise that I am doing it all for a reason.

I have so many photos of wedding inspiration saved to my computer, here's a few that I love.
